Carlos Ulberg Lost UFC 327 Title Belt During Victory Celebrations

lost title belt

Carlos Ulberg’s triumph at UFC 327 turned into a proper night out — and now the newly-crowned light heavyweight champion has misplaced his golden belt somewhere in Miami. The 35-year-old Kiwi warrior knocked out Jiří Procházka to claim the title, but his celebration got a bit too wild for his own good.

Lost Belt After Historic UFC 327 Victory

Speaking to ESPN, Ulberg admitted the inevitable happened after his career-defining win. “I’ve lost the belt, bro,” he confessed with refreshing honesty. “Initially after winning, the plan was to not have a drink. But you know how these things go, right? First, someone gives you a champagne to celebrate. Then one thing leads to another and you’re doing shots.”

Furthermore, the New Zealander fought through what appeared to be a significant knee injury during his title-winning performance. Despite the concern, Ulberg hasn’t sought medical attention yet, telling reporters: “I haven’t actually been to the hospital yet.”

Champion’s Recovery Plans and Missing Hardware

Nevertheless, Ulberg remains optimistic about recovering his precious hardware before heading to Las Vegas for medical evaluation. His knee requires proper assessment from UFC doctors, followed by time at the Performance Institute before returning home to New Zealand.

“I didn’t want to be carrying the belt around, so I think it’s still there at the apartment somewhere,” Ulberg explained with typical fighter pragmatism. “One of the boys probably has it in bed with him.”

The champion’s laid-back attitude towards his missing title belt perfectly captures the raw, unfiltered reality of fight night celebrations. After years of grinding towards championship gold, sometimes the party gets the better of you — even when you’re holding the most coveted prize in the division.
