Mike Tyson steps into the spotlight this Saturday at the PFL vs. Bellator: Champs card in Saudi Arabia. PFL chairman Donn Davis confirms. He’s set to hand over custom belts to three championship fight winners.
“I got Mike Tyson onboard two weeks ago,” PFL chairman Donn Davis told ESPN. “Who’s better for awarding a champion-vs-champion belt than Tyson, the ultimate champ?”
This event marks the first collaboration of PFL and Bellator fighters post-acquisition. PFL heavyweight Renan Ferreira clashes with Bellator’s Ryan Bader in the main event. Light heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay from PFL battles Bellator’s Johnny Eblen. Another title bout features Patricio Freire of Bellator against PFL’s Gabriel Braga.
Davis raises the stakes for Ferreira and Bader. The winner might face Francis Ngannou in a blockbuster matchup.
Tyson’s presence amplifies the event’s magnitude. Despite retiring in 2005, Tyson’s influence in combat sports is undeniable.
“I’m thrilled about this unification,” Tyson shared with Raimondi. “It’s a clash of champions from distinct divisions and organizations.”
