Wilson Reis is gearing up for Cage Warriors 166’s main event this Friday. His recent record stands at 3-2, with his last bout ending in a split decision loss to Trevin Jones at Cage Warriors 159.
After a scrapped December fight with Ricky Bandejas due to weight issues, Reis makes a strategic move to featherweight. Speaking with MMA Unhinged, Reis opened up about the weight class shift.
“Making weight was a battle,” Reis admitted. “I’ve been on weight for ages. Last time I missed, it was 11 years back. My body just stopped at 138 lbs, two pounds over. The weight cut was terrifying. You risk illness. It’s pointless to push that hard now. At 145 lbs, I’m healthier, stronger.”
