Jorge Masvidal; “he’s a lying piece of sh*t’”. Colby Covington accuses UFC 296 judges of being anti-Trump.
Coming off a unanimous decision loss to welterweight champion Leon Edwards at UFC 296, Covington (17-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC) believed he had won. He blamed his defeat on judges biased against him due to his support for former U.S. President Donald Trump. Covington also revealed an X-ray showing a broken foot from Round 1, which he said affected his performance.
Masvidal, a fellow Trump supporter, strongly attacked Covington for using Trump’s name as an excuse. In an interview with BroBible, Masvidal expressed his contempt for Covington. “He knows nothing about politics, immigration laws, 401(k)s, foreign or domestic policies. He just wastes his money on gambling and pays for prostitutes in his videos,” said Masvidal.
Masvidal criticized Covington for involving Trump’s name too much and blaming his loss on judges’ bias due to his political affiliations. “Now he’s blaming the greatest president this country has ever seen for his loss. He’s a piece of sh*t and a cheating, lying, cop-calling motherf*cker,” Masvidal added.
Masvidal’s dislike for Covington is well-known, especially after losing to him in a unanimous decision in March 2022. Their feud escalated when Masvidal attacked Covington outside a Miami restaurant shortly after the fight. Last November, Masvidal pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge, resulting in the dropping of two felony charges of battery and criminal mischief.
